Studio News

Communication is important in any creative endeavor, whether it's visual expression or the written word. Many of my current and past customers contact me to inquire about the progress of new work and to better understand my process. I've now included this "blog" to help describe my life in the studio. I'll post on a weekly basis and welcome your feedback or comments.

First of all...thanks to those folks that have been following my blog. It's nice to know that past acquaintances, clients and friends have shown interest in my work. And a special thanks to those of you who have inquired recently as to whether I'm still working ( read, " am I still alive?" ). I've done a horrible job of reporting regularly, as promised in 2014. I was quite optimistic in my last post, enjoying painting again without any swelling or pain in my joints. It turned out to be a false sense of security as, alas, swollen hands have returned with a vengence. I've gotten used to the inconvenience that comes with my arthritic condition, but it's very difficult to hold a brush when my hand looks like a catcher's glove. Anyways, I'm trying to increase the dosage of one of my medications for a short period of time in order to shock my system. It's worked in the past...so I'm hopeful. To keep my...

This time I have no defense for the gap in posting this sooner...but in my defense, I'm working again. The current piece is an amalgam of 2 similar subjects and is proving to be a bit of a challenge to bring them together into what is my vision for the finished work. Nature is not always beautiful...she needs a hand sometimes to restore natural order.
