13. A new year

First of all...thanks to those folks that have been following my blog. It's nice to know that past acquaintances, clients and friends have shown interest in my work. And a special thanks to those of you who have inquired recently as to whether I'm still working ( read, " am I still alive?" ). I've done a horrible job of reporting regularly, as promised in 2014. There was a time when I kept a daily journal, for a period of 15 years...certainly a habit I developed from my advertising career. The days were always filled with client deadlines and keeping ahead in an organized manner was crucial to success. Time management was the order of the day. Flash ahead to 2015 and I must admit those old practices still influence the way I approach each painting, but not my life. I'll try to do a better job of posting in a timely manner in 2015...no promises, though. Like many of you, I had a quiet Christmas season, visiting family and friends and enjoying more good meals ( and treats ) than normal. It was a good break for several weeks but now I'm buckling down and working...and cooking my own meals ( groan ). Tomorrow, a friend and I are heading to the Provincial Museum to visit the annual Wildlife Photographers of the Year exhibition. It's always inspirational and quite often triggers landscape ideas. Over the next several weeks my goal is to complete the painting I have been working on since before Xmas break and to design a graphics package ( rudimentary branding exercise ) for a Vancouver-based professional on the computer. I'm also going to schedule a regular, pre-determined weekly time slot to keep this blog up to date. Until next time...
