11. Working again

This time I have no defense for the gap in posting this sooner...but in my defense, I'm working again. The current piece is an amalgam of 2 similar subjects and is proving to be a bit of a challenge to bring them together into what is my vision for the finished work. Nature is not always beautiful...she needs a hand sometimes to restore natural order. These days, unless you travel an hour into the "wilderness" you're not likely to find any nature that hasn't been altered by humans. An old tire, an empty paper coffee cup or pop can, bits of fabric caught on a log, cigarette butts in the sand, and even ugly buildings all combine to ruin nature's perfection. When I work I eliminate the irrelevant elements and, hopefully, make improvements that satisfy my vision of the natural world. On another matter ( for those who follow such things ) my health has improved greatly in the past month and I'm much more motivated to paint. I'm hoping that continues so I'm able to meet my gallery commitments for which I'm woefully behind. Fall in Victoria has been pretty gentle so far...no end of sunlit harvest colours. The last lawn cuts, protecting plants, raking leaves, cleaning gutters, etc...etc...these are chores I no longer am responsible for. And I'll be honest here, I don't miss them. Until next time....
